KFA Connect’s researched report continues to consider how IT can deliver real value.
So, what do companies need to address for IT to deliver real value?
As part of our commissioned report, we have had the opportunity to interview a number of business directors – to find out more about the issues they are currently facing.
Our recent interview with Edgcumbes Coffee Roasters & Tea Blenders Managing Director, Alice Edgcumbe-Rendle has helped us to explore what she feels needs to be addressed in order to align IT with business strategies and operations.
Alice commented on how IT is the elephant in the room for SME’s…
“Their focus is on growth and they make that happen first”.
“They know the right approach would be to have better systems in place to cope with growth effectively, but they want to see the money coming in first.”
Then, looking forward she is mindful of how long-established businesses has to be innovative if it is to stay relevant…
“Otherwise, if you don’t continue to reinvent yourself, you can just get lost in the marketplace.”
Edgcumbes have always introduced new IT but realised that the company was outgrowing everything…
“As a business grows faster, systems can begin to creak”.
Leading up to the publication of the full report, which will be published in DECISION magazine and then as a digital book; you can download the full thought-provoking interview with Edgcumbes here.
