As Jim prepares himself mentally and physically for what he calls his “Bike Ride of Madness” this weekend – his colleagues here at KFA helped him prepare in other ways!!
Jim will be taking on the Prudential RideLondon-Surrey this weekend – a 100-mile cycle ride to raise money for our charity Naomi House & Jacksplace, a hospice for children and young adults in Hampshire.
Today – in a bid to make him look like a professional cyclist, we are waxing his legs (donation from the team for each strip) and yes, you did read that right!
It’s not every day you get the chance to inflict pain on your work colleague without any comeback so we are really making the most of it!
He looks like he may be regretting this decision now…as he has disappeared off for lunch and we have only done one leg!
Training
Jim has been training hard all through the winter and more recently had to deal with a puncture in the middle of nowhere just last week… (at least it wasn’t raining Jim).
About the Charity
Naomi House & Jacksplace is an amazing charity who provide 24-hour care to more than 325 life-limited and life-threatened children and young adults across southern England. We have seen for ourselves what a peaceful and relaxing place it really is when 15 of the KFA team spent a whole day gardening there last Summer.
So far Jim has raised £455.00, so we are hoping that the extra money today will get him closer to £500.00 (as well as giving him silky smooth legs!).
Good Luck at the weekend Jim.
